If your masonry chimney has darker areas or whitish residue, your chimney suffers from moisture problem. Since a brick is porous, it absorbs water every time it rains and keeps moisture inside the chimney. Over the years, the surface of the bricks will explode and will require extensive repairs. A waterproof seal enables your chimney to function properly for over a decade.

It is important to remember that we cannot use any kind of brick sealer because a chimney must breathe by itself, unlike a regular brick wall. So the product we use will prevent water from entering the bricks while allowing air to circulate. On the other hand if you use a product that does not allow air to circulate, your chimney will retain moisture and the surface will break much faster.
