  • Sand or fine gravel substrate is your best option for an aquarium with loaches and other bottom-dwellers. The sharp edges of other types of substrate can be abrasive to the fish.
  • Hillstream loaches thrive best in groups of three or more.
  • Driftwood and sturdy plants will provide hiding and resting places for these fish.
  • Hillstream loaches need especially clean water to stay healthy, so regular water changes are important.
Please Note: All fish shipments have a 100% Live Arrival Guarantee when shipping with Overnight (1 Day) option. All other options void our Live Arrival Guarantee for fish.

These fish would go great with Bamboo Fan Shrimp as they both prefer water movement and originate from streams. Trying to recreate a stream with river stone will help these fish thrive.

The scientific name for the Borneo Sucker Loach is Gastromyzon ctenocephalus .although other species can get mixed in.

We feed our loaches a mix Northfin Veggie, Community and Fry Starter. Their preferred food is Northfin Kelp Wafers and natural algae or biofilm. They are not picky eaters and will accept foods that are small enough.
